How To Setup Windows Vista Telnet Client

For some strange reason, Windows Vista does not have the Telnet client installed by default. Instead you have to manually install it from Control Panel. Here's how:

• Click Start, select Control Panel
• If you haven't changed Control Panel to classic view, choose 'Uninstall a program' under 'Programs'. If you have changed back to classic view, select 'Programs and Features'
• Under tasks on the left, choose 'Turn Windows features on or off'
• Scroll down and tick 'Telnet Client'
• Click OK and close Control Panel, you can now run Telnet from the command prompt or run dialog
